Tried to do my own research first but wondering if anybody knows.  I have just been assigned Whiting Field as my UPT assignment.  Are they still flying t34c's or are they transitioning to texans yet?  I really wanted to fly the texans, but as far as I know I will fly the turbo mentor.  Thanks for the help.

My understanding without doing a little google reasearch or whatever on the situation:

I remember hearing that they only even send AF guys to one or two different squadrons down there to begin with and those will be the first ones to get the T-6.  I remember hearing they should have T-6s by FY 09 which would obviously be this Oct/Nov.  I am not sure if that is when the first one is supposed to show up or when they should have their full complement.  My gut guess would be that by the time anyone in ROTC or OTS now gets to UPT all bases will be flying the T-6.  I would request gouge access and study for the DA-20 and then T-6.  You could always call down there to try and see too.

Just my .02.
