I took the AFOQT a year ago and just now have found this website. When I took the AFOQT I was in ROTC but have since left for personal reasons, I didn't pay much attention at the time because I was leaving but my scores were the lowest of the testing group. I'm wondering if this could be a mistake?????????? I've maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout college and hold a commercial rating. I'm now trying to get a application packet together for an ANG unit in my home state. Could someone shed some light on this??? Thanks

Why do you think it's a mistake? What did you get on your SAT? It's just another standardized test. Your commercial license isn't going to make you ace the AFOQT. Your GPA doesn't mean anything. Unless you're a standardized test taking machine National Merit kinda guy there is nothing that would indicate you don't rightfully hold that dubious title. Alright...nice guy post done time to turn my attention to your avatar...it has to be done....can't......resist.... It's generally not a good idea to post your picture online like you did. What if the enemy got ahold of it, huh? From your picture it looks like you hold an important job flying secret missions "downtown" with your trademark fighter pilot pose with the rolled up sleeves, sunglasses, and defiantly crossed arms (you're going to the rock the F-22 by the way) which might give the enemy the desire to break you. You have to remember to check six on your way to the ROTC Det where you'll need to ask them about your AFOQT score mistake to ensure the Hadjis don't kidnapp America's newest not-so-secret weapon. Ok, so I'm being a bit of a prick here but I'm making a point that might help you. If you want to be a Guard guy you don't want to post THAT picture on a forum frequented by Guard guys. On a serious note I'm sure you're a great kid that is just super motivated but if you want to go the Guard route you want to play it cool. That avatar isn't cool. Feel free to disagree. |

OPSEC, Tman, OPSEC. Learn it, live it, love it. Regardless if your scores are true or not (were you drunk when you took it the first time?), you'll have to have better scores to go Guard. Hopefully you'll be able to take another stab at it. |

Thanks for the advice. I made a 1000 on my SAT. I was not drunk and I would be lying if I said I didn't try 110% on the AFOQT. I understand that aronaticual ratings and GPA have little to do with the AFOQT but I was trying to prove a point. Thanks.

Sorry for the ignorance. I hope the patch will suffice. |

| As far as your AFOQT is concered realize you often have to study specifically for it and take it more than once to get good scores. You'll need really good scores to be competitive in the Guard typically. I had to take the test twice to get my mediocre scores and I had an SAT score similiar to yours. Good luck. |

| I had the same thing happen to me when I was a freshman in college, and I was not drunk. I got a 1000 on my first SAT as well. The reason my scores were so low was because I did not learn geometry or algebra very well in high school. I basically had to re-teach myself how to do this type of simple math, and sequestered myself in my office to take practice tests every sunday. My first PCSM score was a 5, and I definitely thought this was a mistake. Then, after studying my ass off, getting my PPL, and flying a lot, I was able to raise it to a PCSM score of 97. Hard work will pay off, but you have to be honest with yourself about standardized testing. I never did well on any type of test until I put the hard work in. That is what will get you a slot if you really want it. However, if you are in ROTC, you do not have to have extremely high PCSM scores to get a slot. I hope this helps. |

You *might* have made an error on the scoring sheet when you took the test. Remember, skipping a question, whether accidentally or purposefully, can shift your entire row of answers up, thus giving you an awful score on some sections. The test is not just about mental aptitude, but about attention to detail. (I.E., you don't have lots of time for going back and checking answers, so get them right the first time!) Either way, it's almost certainly not an error on the scoring side. |

You have your "comercial rating" and you got a 66 on pilot?
Well...I think we can attribute the fact that your calling your Commercial CERTIFICATE a Commercial Rating to your poor pilot test score.
I have no idea why the Air Force calls a Private Pilot Certificate a License...and why they call a Commercial Certificate a Rating. That is completely wrong and it bothers me lol. |

Maybe it's the same reason that you write 'your' instead of 'you're.'

| Nice. The scary thing is that you probably noticed that when you were hammered. |
