Does anyone have any general experience about going through the pilot process with a wife and kids?  I am 28 and have a wife of almost 8 years and two kids (3 years and 5 months).  While I'm REALLY not looking forward to going to OTS for 12 weeks and not seeing them (which brings up another question), I can't wait to head off to UPT and other training where they can all go with me to experience other places to live other than Ohio.

Has anyone gone through this before with kids?  Did you feel like all through UPT you never saw your family?  I know they are long days of twelve hours with studying on either side of that with occasional duty on Saturdays.  I'm just looking to see how others experienced or perhaps you had a good bud at UPT or in your unit that went through this and could shed some light on how it was.
