Alright, it's time to revamp the Pilot Slot Stats in a big way. We have one week to program and it's high up on the list. Besides fixing the redundant record entry we'll also be adding the data displays for ENJJPT info, base info, etc. Hopefully we've had enough info submitted in the new format to display some useful information. If you have any other ideas this is the week to air it.

Plugging away this week on the Stats. The new software is already looking mighty fine. It uses some of that good ole AJAX technology and has tabs separating the info. Should have it out within a day or two. I'll probably release it in stages so guys have time to give feedback while there is still time to change it.

The first iteration of the new Pilot Slot Stats display is up and though not complete...it shows the AJAX technology and gives a good idea of how the data will be laid out. It already shows more information than the previous version. If you have suggestions please post them.

I know it has issues with Firefox and will be addressing that shortly...

The new stats page looks great! I know you're still working on it... just one suggestion. Right now for statsid in the list of records, there's just a number. It would be nice to give people who are listing their stats the option of listing their username instead. That way people could PM them with questions if it looks like they have similar stats/situations, etc. But you could keep it optional so people who wanted to list their stats w/o a username could do that, too...

Thanks SP... That feature is now in there. Guys that add stats can choose to have it show their username in place of the StatID if they want.

The Pilot Slot Stats page is just about done. Still have some formatting issues to take care of...and some performance enhancements with the grid display of records. The sorting works but is a little screwy. But the page is pretty much fully functional.

It won't allow guys to accidentally double pump their info in anymore...the duplicate records. And I'm gonna clean out the duplicates that are in there soon.

I'll also be emailing a couple of guys that apparently got slots for 2008? yet seem to know how they've tracked already. Maybe they got EN slots and just put that in there. Anyway, I'll police up the info to make sure it's all correct.

The database is now good to go. No more duplicates. No more duplicates allowed in the future.

The problem with the "Slot Year" was ROTC types put in their year of commissioning while others put in the year they got the slot. It's set to show only the year people get slots to make in more uniform and more sensible.

BTW, if you've put your stats in already and want the HTML for the snazzy little signature line like I have (it allows noobs to click on it and shows your stats) you can go to the Stats page and click on the "Add Stats" tab and it will give you the HTML that you can copy and paste. It's customized for your stats. Useful way to help guys out on other boards.

We'll be putting a character count in the comments section of the Stats so those of you with a ton to share don't get cut off like seems to have happened to at least one person already.

We're taking another stab at upgarding the Pilot Slot/Candidate Stats. We're going to add charting and some other features mostly just making the UI better. If you have recommendations or features you want to see now is a great time to let us know.

have you made it possible to edit pilot stats? I recently found out my UPT base, so I can add that in. Also, when I first tried to add notes on HOW I got that slot, I was somehow cut off, and was not able to put all my comments in there.

It is still kicking me off the "edit" page. My stats are currently wrong (some how it says AD).

It hasn't yet been updated. Soon.

We've got a newer version of the Pilot Slot Stats module up now although it's not quite polished off. It has some charting and a couple of bugs we're squishing but should be better in the long run. One of the things it will do is give users TPP every time somebody clicks on their Stats Signature block in some forum (as long as it's not repetitive so people can't click over and over trying to rack up points). The charting is the main feature and we've also changed the way field training scores are calculated and we've cleaned up the UI a little bit.

Pretty cool checking out the ROTC PCSM over the years chart...it becomes clear that the average PCSM in ROTC for those that got slots has been increasing each year.

Alright the new version is released. Got a few minor tweaks in the next couple days but it's mostly up now. New features include comparative charts that now chart the data in a variety of ways. Also, the grid is slightly enhanced and those of you with Pilot CANDIDATE Stats signature blocks on other forums will get 1 TPP for every click on your signature block. For those with Pilot Slot Stats you don't get TPP for clicks on your signature block.

Another change is the Field Training Score point system has been updated.

For those using the Pilot Candidate Stats signature block with ratings from around the internet....some are noticing a few people think it's cute to rate somebody with obviously bogus ratings. Soon there will be a delete button where you can delete those ratings from your list so that it shows an accurate average.

A new feature just released is the ability to show all 400+ individual records at once so you don't have to page through them all if you want to scan the entire database. At the bottom of the grid is the ability to specify how many records are shown on each page.
