Just know from being around the squadrons...the 97th, 728th and 313th AS out of McChord hold their boards every Sept.-Oct. Flying the C-17. |

The former 110 FW will be having a board Jul 12-13. Two slots for c-21 with a follow on to the JCA. |

169th FW, SC ANG deadline is March 31. When the ang.com website got 'updated' the latest UPT announcement page was lost, but I had copied and pasted into a text document. It's attached at the bottom. You'll have to hurry!
Anyone know the contact information for the 122nd FW, IN ANG? Or maybe a link to the UPT announcement? Their webpage is lacking, last updated over 3 years ago. . . |

Hey L Unit,
Chris1083x from the other board here. We'll be able to google cache these announcements for a little while longer probably (http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cach...irefox-a), but yeah, kinda sad we have to resort to google caching to find UPT announcements right now. Did you apply to the 169th, too? Attached is the 122nd FW UPT announcement. |

Thanks for that attachment, I don't think I would have been able to find it on my own.
Yes, I applied to the 169th, and got an email last night stating that they had recieved my package and it was going to be forwarded to the board. Good luck if you applied too!
I also called the 188th yesterday, and got the .pdf containing their UPT announcement. It's on page 5 of the document. Attached at the bottom.
Additionally, I got an email response from WI (115 FW), I can copy and paste the response for the UPT app if you pm me.
Also, if anyone has trouble locating the webpages for the other units:
SD (114 FW) http://www.sdsiou.ang.af.mil/pilot_...ation.html
OR (142 FW) http://preview.afnews.af.mil/142fw/careers/undergraduatepilotprogram/pilotselectionprocess.asp

Hey, thanks for the OR link. I really need help getting info for the following units, I've made several calls over the last month to each of them and gotten [mostly empty] promises of having the information emailed to me, or that someone would call. If anyone has the information, I'd really appreicate it. Let me know if you need anything else, I have most of the rest. Thanks.

Oh, and if anyone knows what the HQ USAFRS FS is and knows where to download a copy to read, please let me know. I have looked all over the internet and can't find it anywhere. (On the AF24 Form it says at the bottom "I have read and understand HQ USAFRS FS" and asks you to initial.) Thanks. |

A little bit of calling and persistence helped me get that document from their recruiting office actually. I got an e-mail from the 169th yesterday, too. Good luck to you as well.
greg - i'm keeping an eye on http://www.iadesm.ang.af.mil/ for the 132nd FW. They still have info on their last UPT board, and I think they'll probably have a board this year around the same time. Not sure about some of those other units you listed, I don't think some of them are even having boards. Also, the 159th FW only selects their officers from within their enlisted personnel, just thought I'd throw that out there.

greg- USAF-RS FS pretty much stands for (although I'm not 100% certain) USAF Refractive Surgery Flight Surgeon. This is basically the document that tells you what is allowable for eye surgery. If you have not had eye surgery, I would not worry about it, just initial so that nobody gives you a problem with unfilled blanks. However, there may be more information at :
http://airforcemedicine.afms.mil/id...CTB_070655
Some of the links require a login, so I don't know how much help that will be. I'm sorry I don't know more, but my eyes are fine so I didn't look into it too much.
Re: Calling units. I've had the best luck calling the recruiting office first, explaining that I was looking for UPT info, and asking them to direct me to the proper person. Sometimes it's the first person who answers the phone. Tips:
1. Be polite. Dear God, please be polite. To EVERYONE you talk to. These guys (and gals) have no obligation to you, so if you call up and are rude, they'll just promise you some stuff and not deliver.
2. Ask for a web link. Most units have one, because they don't like having to email it out every time someone calls in. Additionally, they don't have to get your email and potentially misspell it during entry to the address line. If you can, be at a computer while they give it to you so you can verify that the site exists or is currently operational.
3. If all they have is a document, and you want an email, the best bet is for you to offer to email THEM, so all they have to do is hit "reply" and add the attachment. If you do this, get their email and read it back so that there are no mistakes.
4. Be polite.
5. Be polite.
Good luck! |

HA! Thanks for the info, I followed the link and realized that I had already downloaded the info on IA (don't know why I didn't check it off). My eyes are very good (20-15 in both) so I guess I'll just initial the blank from now on. Thanks also for the calling info. I actually realized (just last week after making some calls) that the recruiters usually always transfer me to OPS for the UPT info. So now I just contact OPS directly and usually I get the info easy and don't have to worry about leaving messages and never getting a call back. Just a hint, hopefully it helps! And I also agree with always being polite... to tell you the truth you should always be polite to everyone anyway, especially if you want to be an effective leader. So we are just missing the following... post if you have the info! 149th FW (TX) Lackland Air Force Base, Texas 103d AW (CT) Bradley IAP, Connecticut 127th Wing (MI) Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan 161st ARW (AZ) Sky Harbor Intl Airport, Phoenix, Arizona 126th ARW (IL) Scott AFB, Illinois 174th FW (NY) Syracuse Hancock IAP, Syracuse, NY 128th ARW (WI) General Mitchell Field, Milwaukee, WI |

The deadline for the 47th at Barksdale is April 18th. So if anyone wants to put in application hurry up. I got an email from LTC. Glick that said if I wanted to be considered I should hurry and that they have 25 candidates selected for interviews and bunch more turned down.
Does anyone know what to expect of an interview? I don't have one yet, but I'm preparing as though I do. Any help would be appreciated. |
