I searched the forum for it, and no one has asked about it.  What about waivers.  As a teenager, I had a few run-ins with the cops.  Under aged drinking, fighting, and posession of marijuana.  All high school stuff.  In the interest of protecting my anonymity, I will be very general.  I did several years active duty in a branch of service, including Iraq.  I got a B.S. in a very tough field of science with a high GPA.  I am also a grad student going for an MS in a very diffcult branch of science.  I am going for my PPL as we speak and I also have very close ties to many police officers.

How do you think my chances are, given that information?

I know I didn't leave you with much, but I'm still not sure what information I want out there yet.

With the Guard, almost anything is possible. You can make a strong case for yourself -- IE you learned from your mistakes, overcame them and pressed. You did well in school and did well in the service, so you've obviously put other stuff behind you. See where I'm going with this?

The close ties to police officers won't help all that much (unless they happen to be a Guard pilot, too?). A letter of rec from one couldn't hurt, though.

I know I probably didn't offer much help -- but seriously, go for it. Don't take your first 'no' for an answer, either. Keep keepin on.

Thanks a lot. I wasn't under the impression that my cop friends would help me out. I just wanted to demonstrate to would-be repliers that I am on the up and up. Anyway, thaks for the encouragement.
