There really is no reason in my opinon- other than ease of access for the docs when they say "drop em!" There was no physical activity. When I went all of the ROTC guys/gals had their USAF issued PT gear on, while all of us with no mil experience just wore regular gym shorts and tee's. Good Luck! |

Did the FC1/MFS Oct 13 and they approved and gave class dates to some guys in less than 1 1/2 weeks later. That is fast. Some guys even had medical waivers. |

I have my Class 1 Flight physical scheduled this Monday. The memo I received states to wear a uniform. Doesn't state ABU or PT gear. Are most showing up in PT gear? Should I show up in my ABU on and PT gear in a gym bag? I was also told to show up at billeting on Monday morning. Will there be a bus to take me to the FC 1 appointment? Thanks for any info. |

http://airforcemedicine.afms.mil/id...CTB_125487 If your physical is at Brooks City in San Antonio, go to that link. It should answer your questions. I was just down there for my physical on the 4th, although they had me down there on Sunday night. Some guys showed up on Monday though, and it didn't seem to be a huge problem except for the fasting issue, but if you read that welcome letter it will spell out what is expected of you. We had a shuttle that picked us up in front of the main billeting desk every morning and took us to our required appointments. |

How was it? What can I expect? Can anyone tell me the specifics on the weight,
is it under 240 or 214 for a male that is about 6' 2"? Are they really out to
find anything and everything? How long the the ECG take?
Thanks for the info

Its a physical. Plain and simple. They are going to inspect you head to toe more thoroughly then previous physicals. If theres something up with your eyes, they WILL find it. If theres something wrong with your various inards, they WILL find it. The Echo only takes a few minutes, provided there aren't any issues. As I said in another thread, I wasn't over my weight so I don't know exactly what the process is with that, but I would ASSUME while they want you to be under 214 for your height, the 240 is there as a ceiling for waivers. Provided you are below 240, they will probably work with you about being over 214, although by "work with you" it could mean they tell you they are going to hold your package until you get under 214. I don't know what your body composition is. It wasn't bad at all, and I had myself pretty worked up prior. Just be polite, pay attention, and its over before you know it. |

As for tattoos, I have a few and since they are within regs they didn't say boo. I was wondering going in, I knew they were within regs, but I wouldnt have been surprised to have been harassed, but no one said anything. They DID measure all of them though. The physical takes a few days, and if you have a problem youll know it pretty quickly... |

Just finished my FC-1 physical. The hardest part is the hurry-up-and-wait part of the Air Force. The physical is usually done in about 2 days, but if you have any issues you can be held up until the end of the week (FRI). You will usually arrive on Sunday and check-in to Brooks Inn. You will have to fast, with only WATER (12-14hrs) the night before you arrive. This is all for your blood work and urine sample. When you arrive at Brooks Inn, there will be a list at the front desk that has the candidates split into two groups. Group 1 is Active, ANG, RES, and some AFROTC. Group 2 is all AFROTC. The first group will start first and report at 0700 Monday morning, and the second group will report at 0930 Monday morning. You will go through many tests the first and second day. If you have any problems they will give you a couple of chances to retest. They are not there to DQ anyone. They are just making sure you meet the standards and are fit to fly and fight. The last step is to meet with the Flight Doc. They will clear up any issues and answer any last questions you may have. They will then give you a third class medical and a final brief. All Done!! Good Luck.
They will ask about tattoos.
Bring sunglasses the second day! your eyes will be dilated and sensitive to light.
There is food for dinner right outside the gate to Brooks-City Base. Buffalo Wild Wings!
Bring cash for lunch. $15.00 for three days of lunch, collected the first day.
Bring laptop, books, movies, cellphone, for time in the waiting room.
If you have AF PT uniform, wear it. If not wear Biz casual.
