I'm hoping to go, when did your package to to NGB and how long did it take to hear back?

My packet went through the state and NGB about 8 months ago. My packet would have gotten processed sooner but my unit is currently stationed at another base due to runway reconstruction. Once you get your packet approved my the NGB, it is up to your unit to apply for a student slot at AMS from what I have been told. It took 3 months for my unit to give me a set date. One thing you can do once your packet is processed, is put your name on a short-notice list, just in case someone drops out and then you can be picked up.

Does anyone have a solid idea of what the "NEW" AMS is going to look like? I know they are keeping it 6 weeks, but I have heard rumors that there may be a gap in training for the spring and late summer of 2010. Is this correct? Does anyone have a good article or information source to educate myself on it, besides baseops and this fine forum? Thanks.
