question for ENJJPT 09-04 drops, i thought ENJJPT was a fighter/bomber track, but some ppl got drops into heavies such as C-17 and KC-135, how does that work? i kno ppl are getting dropped into UAV and NSA from ENJJPT, but i didn't think they would be getting heavies as well, kinda defeats the point of having ENJJPT if they get the same kind of drops as other guys...if someone could shed some light on this, that would be great.

The T-38 side (not just ENJJPT), was getting nailed with UAV's because of the fighter drawdown and the ever increasing need for UAV pilots. Sidenote: This is the first year the AF will produce more UAV's than manned aircraft. Heavies will always need to be manned essentially, thus the UAV assignments were drifting toward the 38 side since they didn't have cockpits to fill. This change allows 38 studs to stay in the cockpit rather than getting screwed with all the UAV assignments, and distributed the UAV's to all the bases (minus choppers.....yet) more equally. No need to get into the argument of why are the 38 guys getting 'special' treatment since they 'chose' this route and should face the consequences, etc etc... this is just how it is right now. The Sheppard CC pushed for this and someone pulled the right strings to make it happen.

We'll see soon if all the bases with 38's will see this many heavies, or if it's more ENJJPT centric due to the lack of track select (doubt that's the case though, but I am still interested).

Um.... I'd rather get shot down flying a UAV. Easier to walk away from that one... much easier.

Can't say I wouldn't cry a little on the inside, but with the way everyone is talking about UAS' I'll be happy to be flying anything by the time my UPT comes around......(please fighter, please fighter, please fighter). Here's a link to the article:
