I'm definitely buying an iPad to use as a kneeboard. I once bought a mini-PC to use for the same purpose but the screen was a little too small and it was thick and heavy. The iPad looks like it will be absolutely perfect though. Just being able to grab the weather, radar images, notams, etc during the brief and then step with the info right there will be awesome. Not to mention having all the digital approach plates and charts pre-loaded along with all the AFIs etc etc. The Air Force could save a lot of money in the long run by buying these bad boys in bulk and issuing them and while the approach plates would still be needed in the jet as a paper backup, the savings in paper for regs and FCIFs would be huge.
I know there are some operating limitations in the regs but maybe this thing could be tested and approved.
