We should be releasing the first beta version of the CFA publically very soon. The release will include free access to the single player version of the software which will allow users to create and edit existing AirField Profiles (information required to make the software work at a particular location including field elevation, magnetic variation and the ability to draw lines on Google imagery to color code and depict flight procedures...ie "Training Wheels). Airfield Profiles can be saved to your local computer and uploaded so you don't have to worry about somebody messing up your particular work of art for UPT Base X.
In the single player version you will be able to fly any Airfield Profile and will have working VOR and other instrumentation. You will not be able to listen to ATIS or make radio calls but you can chairfly those items.
A cheap subscription option will also be released allowing individuals to use the multi-player software which allows them to coordinate with other users to fly a session with realistic UHF and VHF communications, squawking, ATIS, and a local pattern as packed as you can get it. Note you will need to have somebody willing to be a controller (or multiple controllers depending on how realistic you want your chairflying session to be). The cheap subscription will pay for bandwidth costs associated with the multi-player version of the software.
Instructions will also be provided for users that may wish to start up a vUPT program for the base of their choice and use the software to create exceptional training gouge. Please note, WantsCheck.Com does NOT provide UPT preparation but it does provide exceptional tools to allow others to provide instruction and/or practice chairflying in a more realistic, more time based, way.
Standby for more information.
