I've got a set of orders with a departure date and a "TDY Length" number of days.  My question is....does that TDY length number include travel days as part of the TDY?

I don't think it does.

Just make sure it says "variations authorized" somewhere on the orders!

Thanks bro. Yeah it says variations are authorized and gives me a TDY length of 189. I also know I get 5 travel days and the 179 day length TDY I thought was some common number. In my time I've always thought travel day were not included in the TDY length but I just want to be sure as I don't want to get charged leave for some mistake.

Besides, if that number did include travel days then I'd have to hit the road on 4 July which kinda blows. I did a proper ORM (and even a MET-T) as the risk conscious professional that I am and it said it wouldn't be the best decision to start travelling cross country on a holiday weekend with all the traffic and drunk drivers.

EDIT:  As Hacker rightfully points out with his response below, the sarcasm wasn't properly highlighted in my previous sentence concerning ORM and MET-T...  I have sufficiently choked myself as a result.
