Hey everyone,
Just checking up to see if any ROTC guys/gals out there got their PDT assignments yet and if not when do they usually come out? I heard one of the POC at my Detachment got his already..just checking up! Crossing my fingers for Freefall, if not OPS/AF will be just fine. |

Our det got our PDT assignments last week and had several OSI PDT's, a Global Engagement, and I got SOAR from June 11-20. We had an as100 get FreeFall. Needless to say, we 300's were pretty peeved! |

Hey guys/gals..our det just released PDT's today..I received OPSAF from 14 July- 30 July and I am currently waiting on base information. One of our AS300's received FREEFALL and only 4 GMC out of about 30 received PDT's this semester..my COC said this was the shortest list he had ever seen! Good luck to everyone! |

Looks like they cut OPSAF back by 2 weeks, I believe that use to be 4 weeks unless someone else can clarify that. And only 4 out of 30 got a PDT? Wow, trimming the fat to make money for the -22 and the -35 I guess. That sucks for the other 26, I can remember looking forward to those PDTs and being around the real AF and soaking it all in. What base is your OPSAF at? |

Yeah, we were told it was going to be two weeks as well, but i mean I'm just happy I got a PDT with this nonsense. Cajun we find our bases out in a few weeks my COC said, any specific ones that are better than others? -Kraig |

Obviously there are bases that are better than others, but do you know what the list of bases are that have been made available to you? When I was in ROTC at those programs went to bases like Nellis, Little Rock, Charleston, etc. However that was back when it was a 4 week program, now that it's two week they might just decide to send you to some dinky UPT base or something, though I doubt it. Let us know when the base list/assignments come out. |

You want Nellis. Oh my Lord you want Nellis!
Definitely. They'll show you a good time and the party will be rockin' every night. Go to a non-fighter base, however, and you'll have to entertain yourself because the flyers are deployed taking care of business in Iraq and Afghanistan for the upteenth TDY. But those fighter guys are home with the women and children and ready to make sure your ROTC field trip is a memorable one! |

WOW, I defintely understand being a freshman you may not exactly know much about the bases and what is where etc etc, but I STRONGLY suggest you google Nellis AFB and come to your own conclusion as to why Nellis is so good. |

No big whoop. One *GUARD* fighter unit I know has deployed 8 times in the past 7 years. But that's cake with these jets since they've already almost doubled their intended service life.
1 weekend a month / 2 weeks a year, right? Just flying around the flag pole.
Suck it up, everybody but light greys are in the desert.
I dont know why this message is showing up in the quote block. This site doesn't like firefox too much.

Yeah, you don't want to hang out with a -130 squadron. They all have to be in bed by 8:00, and they're not allowed to have any fun. |

This is similar to how it was at my det. One AS300 got Freefall and 2 GMC (one who was on 4 year scholarship and required to go) got OPSAF. I was a little disappointed not to get one but there's always the year after next. |

Wow. I'm glad my Det seems to be so far behind the curve or else I might not be as anxious to get PDT results. And who wants to live a life without a whole bunch of anxiety?! |
