ShineR- I actually ended up being #2 from my base, but obviously it didn't matter. My CC called on my behalf and Mr. P said he couldn't see any reason why I wouldn't be an easy selection. I just went about the process of trying to get a pilot slot completely wrong and have now paid the piper. Slim- Unless the ETP policy changes this year, I won't be eligible for one and am therefore done.
