I spoke to my recruiter today and she said that there were not many pilot slots for OTS candidates this year.  I was wondering if anyone else had input on this.  Also, I just got my PCSM today not too satisfied but what do you guys?  90 PCSM 99Pilot 98 NAV 98APT 97Quant 88 VER

I think for your first go around that's not bad at all. Depends on how many flight hours you have. If your flight hours are what bumped your score, then you could probably take it again and do better knowing what to expect--However if you're just a beast and you first-time 90ed it... Then you'll have to do some soul searching on the retake. There is always the chance you could do worse.
90 is pretty good, even in a competitive place like OTS. The problem at OTS I've heard, is that all these guys with 2k flight hours come in and receive maximum boost on the test as well as doing pretty well, and rack up 99s.
Your scores on the AFOQT look great, no issues there. I wish I could help you out on the number of OTS slot issue, I don't have many connections in the OTS side of things. Generally they don't get a lot of slots as it is--if you feel competitive though, you may be one of the guys that snags one.

If you haven't checked out some of the resources on this site, go ahead and do it now. I know OTS gets in the range of 80-110 depending on the year--but I don't know how current that is. I think the page on this site says somewhere near 100, which is pretty accurate. So yes, OTS slots are pretty competitive.

Thanks for the input. I have 37 flight hours and will finish up my ppl in the next week or so. I checked out the site you provided and my scores seem to be competitive baring the people that maxed out their hours. I think I am going to stick with this score and turn in my application. My whole application is the best I could possible do so I will take my shot. Thanks for the input and the resource and hopefully I will pick up one of the slots.

I'm going to be an OTS guy that was picked up last year for pilot. They selected 120-something pilots on my board alone (beginning of FY09) however the selection numbers have sharply declined since then, unfortunately. I know they also recently lowered the number of OTS class sizes for future years (due to the economy/budgets). Given that ROTC and Academy numbers remain pretty consistent year in and year out; OTS is the "valve" in which they loosen and tighten constantly to keep the influx of new LT's where they want it at an overall level to meet yearly goal. Go check out AirForceOTS.com - much better source of info on OTS than you'll find around here. Looks like tough times ahead for the OTS route, but best of luck to you man!

I did not receive a pilot slot but was offered a CSO position, evidently they are wrapping ewo, wso, and nav into one career path. I am going to take this position since the pilot selection from OTS is shrinking again. A few pilots I know say that some guys have switched over from the CSO equivalent position to pilot and right now that is my goal. From my understanding you can get these oppurtunities by "not sucking". Just wanted to see if anyone could elaborate on if they have ever done this or have more specific insight. I am currently working PT and basic Air Force knowledge since that is pretty much all I can do until I get to training. Both are going well PT numbers are nearing perfect scores. Just wanted to get some input on things and I am stoked to have the oppurtunity to be an officer in the Air Force even in a non pilot position. Thanks
