Ok, I can't see the picture you're referring to, but there is one here:
http://www.wantscheck.com/PilotSlot...fault.aspx That's the one I'm using.
So look at the left map. Remember, the yellow indicator is your afterburner. Given that, you seem to be heading due South. Alright, easy--let's look at the other map. I know it has N,S,E, and W marker already, but ignore that. If you were flying due south, and you encountered a hospital with four parking lots as shown, the farthest lot from you would be South--Does that make sense? You're basically putting yourself in the eyes of the camera mounted on your UAV.
Next example--Let's say you're heading SW. At a diagonal heading, the parking lots are going to appear to form an X rather than a cross (like in the example). Ok, pretend you're flying straight SW still, and you're staring at that X shape formed by the parking lots around the hospital. The one to the left of center, farthest from you, would be South, and the one right of center, farthest from you, would be West. I wish I had a picture to show you, but that should help you understand.
For practice, go ahead and take a sheet of paper, and draw your cross shape parking lots, like the example, and draw some X shaped ones as if you're approaching from a diagonal heading. Give yourself a random heading, and then pretend you're in the eyes of your UAV, just like a parking lots you would see on Google Earth or something. Does that help?
