I know a few people have asked about this but they all seem to be taking shots from a doctor or what not. For me, i dont really remember having allergies until a few years ago ( i just turned 20 last week). I wouldnt say it is too severe but it does bother me. I get them during the spring season and even today my nose still isnt completely clear however it is very light by now. I dont take any shots or have consulted with a doctor yet. I may take claritin sometimes but this season I havent and just coped with it.
From my understanding it is a disqualifier but it is possible to get a waiver. Reading other people's posts, it seems some of you advise to not to say you have allergies if it is not on record yet (meaning spoken to a doctor and it is on file). However, if i decide not to go to a doctor and take shots and leave it blank on paper what wil happen when I get into the air force and i get my allergies?
Is it better to go to a doctor, get shots that'll medicate my allergies and get a waiver? is it easy to get waivers? please give me some more insight on my situation. thank you.
