To learn how to add this self updating display of Average Pilot Slot Stats to your personal website, blog, or to a pinned forum post on another website (which shows this automatically updated data and helps get more data into the database) please click here.

First, before you spill your numbers and your bio into a post in this thread (which is ok) let us suggest that you check out the Pilot Candidate Stats page and paste the "Rate My Chances of Getting a Pilot Slot" link into your signature block.  Why is this in your best interest?  I'll tell you why:

1.  You want people with wings to rate your chances

2.  People with wings don't typically cruise the "what are my chances" threads and answer them.

3.  Using our signature block allows you to unobtrusively ask in every post you make....so if you post in an interesting thread that people with wings actually read (like this one for example) then people will see your signature block and can click it, see your latest stats, and then rate your chances and leave comments anonymously.  You are then given an average rating of your chances.

4.  You can use the signature block on other forums too so that you only have to update your stats in one place and then it's current across the internet

5.  You get TPP for people that click on your link

6.  We update our software regularly with new features...if you have an idea how we can improve it then post it in our features forum and we'll have our programmers consider it

Or you can just post your stats in here without using the signature block if you choose.  It's up to you.

Want to know how to add your Pilot Candidate Stats to our database and then add the link to signature block?

OK since we are moving over here from the "Spring 2009 Pilot Slot..." thread UPTHopeful I'm still kinda weary about your information that HQ AFROTC changed the way they score FT for the ROTC OOM.

You said someone that graduated 10/20 at FT would get a 5 as opposed to getting a 7 with the current understood system for being "Middle Third." In the past scoring for FT has been the following:

DG - 10
SP - 9
Top Third - 8
Mid Third- 7
Bottom Third - 6
Not Yet Attended - 5

In your new scoring method (which very well maybe true) if you got say 19/20 (Bottome Third but still graduating) instead of getting 6 points for bottom third you would get anywhere from 0-1?....Correct me if I'm wrong. If that is so what does someone who hasn't gone to FT yet get? And there are numerous people every year who compete for pilot slots who haven't yet been to FT for whatever reason.

I'm not trying to call you out but I would just love to see a new AFI, Arms message, or at least a copy of an email from HQ before we accept this as the no shit new standard and change our OOM calculator on this site...

Asked the Commander at my Det yesterday, whether or not he's heard anything about this, and he said he hasn't heard anything about this new Field Training point system either. (But he doesn't necessarily know everything either, I would just like to see something a little more concrete too.)

Thanks Rynizzle, I designed it for my Det. but since it's not really being used I decided to at least use it for my avatar, It's actually a little cooler when you can see the C130 firing in the middle of the wings but oh well.
So UPT is this the new system for this year? And to bring back up an old question, if this is in-fact the new point scoring system, any idea what kind of points those who haven't gone to field training get?

So I've been looking and cant find any solid evidence of what the "OM Cut off" is going to be this year since there is going to be less slots. I'm going to be anywhere from a 78 to like 82. Whats everyones thoughts on that?

Earlier this year the AFROTC North East Region Commander came to our det and he said there was going to be almost 100 less slots. Has anyone else heard this? Or has anyone heard this and know its not true? That would be cool too. But what do you think about a 78-82 OM?

I would really like some feedback as to my chances of getting into OTS as pilot rated?

Mathematics hence the B.S.)- GPA 2.9

AFOQT Scores

I know that I have low Verbal scores, but is it really going to stop me from being accepted. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Whats your PCSM score? What are some highlights from your Resume? What kind of LORs do you have? It's really about the whole person big picture concept.

Yes your verbal score is low but your pilot score is good and if you do well on the TBAS your PCSM with 10 hours should be in the 90s as well and that will be a good thing for your "overall" picture to an OTS board.

Do you have a recruiter yet? They should be able to tell you if your verbal is "disqualifying" and if not I wouldn't worry about retaking the whole damn test.

Rob, here's some feedback. Instead of posting a whole new thread in this very same forum why don't you instead read the very first post in this thread. I think you'll find it's a much more effective way of soliciting comments from people on your chances.

Hey guys/gals,

I have taken my AFOQT, and TBAS. So I have my PCSM but my recruiter isn't being much help. I was wondering if yall could help me out with information on what I should do next. I am hoping to get a UPT slot in the Air Force Reserves. I have multiple units that I would like to submit a package to but I have not contacted them. Should I contact the units and begin networking to get to know them before I plan to send my package or should I just keep quiet and submit my finished package?

I am also concerned about my scores. I want to be competitive (who doesn't) and I am debating if I should retake the AFOQT. I dont want to retake a get a worse score. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

PCSM: 88

Pilot: 82

Nav: 62

Acad: 40

Verb: 25

Quan: 58

Are these competitive.
